Effective date: August 10, 2026
These terms govern your use of the Hagewood Electric website. By using this site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
These terms cover the website. They are not the contract for electrical work. Any work we perform is governed by the written estimate, invoice, or agreement for that specific job.
1. About this website:
This website provides general information about Hagewood Electric and the electrical services we offer in Southport and Brunswick County, North Carolina. We try to keep it accurate and current, but we make no promise that every detail is complete, current, or free of error. Service offerings, pricing, and availability can change without notice.
2. The content here is not electrical advice:
Information on this website is general and educational. It is not instruction for performing electrical work, and it is not a substitute for a licensed electrician evaluating your specific situation.
Do not use anything on this website as a guide to performing your own electrical work. Electrical work carries a genuine risk of electrocution, fire, injury, and death. It is also regulated — most electrical work in North Carolina requires a licensed electrical contractor and, frequently, a permit and inspection. Improper work can void your homeowner's insurance, fail an inspection, and create hazards that stay hidden for years.
If you have an electrical problem, have it looked at by a licensed electrician. If you smell burning, see scorching around an outlet or panel, or have a breaker that is hot to the touch, stop using that circuit and call a licensed electrician or your utility.
3. Contacting us does not create a contract:
Submitting our contact form, calling us, or texting us does not create a contract for electrical services and does not obligate either of us to anything. We may decline work for any lawful reason, including scheduling, location, or scope.
A contract exists only when we and you agree — in a written estimate, work order, or invoice — on specific work at a specific price.
4. Estimates and quotes:
Any figure discussed on this website, over the phone, or by text is an estimate, not a fixed price, unless it is given to you in writing and identified as a firm quote.
Free estimates are offered for jobs more complex than a standard service call. An estimate is based on what is visible and known at the time. Electrical work regularly uncovers conditions that could not be seen beforehand — wiring inside a wall, the condition of a box above a ceiling, a panel's internal state. If we find something that changes the scope, we will tell you before proceeding, and you decide whether to continue.
Estimates are valid for the period stated on them. Where no period is stated, thirty days.
5. Licensing:
Hagewood Electric performs work under a North Carolina Unlimited Electrical License and carries liability insurance.
You are entitled to verify both, and we encourage it. License status can be confirmed through the North Carolina State Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors. We will provide proof of insurance on request.
6. Text message program terms:
If you consent to receive text messages from Hagewood Electric:
- Messages relate to the service you requested — scheduling, arrival, quotes, and follow-up.
- Message frequency varies based on your request.
- Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
- Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time. Reply HELP for assistance.
- Consent is not required to receive service.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Our handling of your phone number is described in our Privacy Policy. We do not share or sell mobile numbers or SMS consent data to third parties for marketing purposes.
